How it all began...
It all started with my hound, Jessie.
I found myself wondering: What’s her perspective on the world? How does she tick? And what does that tell me about myself and our unique relationship?
Over time, I learned through canine education and hands-on enrichment how to observe her subtle shifts in posture, expression, and behaviour - the quiet language that reveals what she’s truly saying and feeling.
That changed everything for us.
Inspired by my South African roots and a passion for celebrating every hound’s unique spark, I founded HowzitHounds!, proudly based here in the UK - a space dedicated to helping humans and hounds understand each other better and to building a world where we grow in calm, confidence, and connection - side by side, as true companions.
How I work with humans & hounds
I’m endlessly fascinated by the relationship between humans and hounds - how we connect, communicate, and build our shared culture together.
My approach blends joyful energy with thoughtful observation, making sure every hound’s unique traits are truly seen and valued. I meet every hound and human with empathy, positivity, and a genuine commitment to understanding their needs.
My canine education work is grounded in formal study with The Dog Training College UK as a Canine Body Language Certified Specialist and Scent Work Certified Specialist, along with training in Canine Enrichment, Canine First Aid, and a Dog Trainer Certification Program (currently in progress).
